Artistic Perspectives Collaborative Residencies project, 2012-present
A project of Honolulu Theatre for Youth, Hawaii Arts Alliance and the ARTS FIRST Partners with funding from Hawaii Community Foundation and Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.
Through this project, teaching artist and classroom teacher partnerships design and implement classroom residencies that:
1) Significantly integrate art strategies with classroom content,
2) Benefit from the combined skill sets of artist and teacher,
3) Advance their work in engaging students in and through art with training by the project hosts and,
4) Include documentation of the residencies through digital narratives created by the partner teams.
Follow the links on this page to see the DigiNars (digital narratives) that demonstrate achievements of these collaborative partnerships.
As one participant noted, "The Collaborative Residency is always something to look forward to. I really enjoy the infusion of creativity and inspiration. It allows me to express more of who I am in my work. If I am more of who I am, then my students have permission to be too!"
